Some ideas come from years of careful planning. This one came from a road trip.
It was during a trip to Manali with a group of friends. We were mid-journey — somewhere on one of those long stretches of highway where the phone signal cuts in and out — when one of my friends received a work call. His manager wanted a medical certificate for the days he'd taken off. The problem? He'd actually been unwell, but hadn't visited a doctor. He just needed rest, not a prescription. And now he was in the middle of the Himalayas trying to figure out how to handle a bureaucratic requirement from his employer.
The conversation that followed was half-serious, half-joking. Someone said, "Can't you just generate one?" Someone else pulled out their laptop. We spent the next hour searching — and found nothing that was realistic, Indian-formatted, or free without questionable intent.
What started as a joke between friends on a mountain road turned into a genuine question: why doesn't a good, honest tool for this exist?
